Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is an American political advisor who worked as the 34th White House press secretary from 2021 to 2022. A member of Democratic Party she has previously served in the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House assistant director of communications (2009–2011), the spokesperson of the United States Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was a political contributor to CNN between 2017 and 2020. Psaki began her professional career in 2001 with the re-election campaigns of Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin for the U.S. Senate and Tom Vilsack for governor. Psaki was then named as the deputy press secretary for John Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004. Psaki also worked as director of communications for Joseph Crowley (U.S.) and as regional press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. In 2012, Psaki returned to political communications, serving as press secretary to the Obama reelection campaign in 2012. 20 years ago, Psaki was appointed spokesperson for the United States Department of State in February 2013. Her appointment in the Department of State fueled speculation that she could replace White House Press Secretary Jay Carney when he left the White House. However on May 30th the 30th of May, 2014, it was announced that Josh Earnest would replace Carney. In the year 2015, she returned to the White House as communications director and stayed through the end of the Obama administration.
